Preparing culturally responsive teachers: rethinking the curriculum (Villegas and Lucas 2002)Villegas and Lucas suggest that in order to effectively prepare culturally responsive teachers, teacher educators must first be able to "articulate a vision of teaching and learning in a diverse society and use that vision to systematically guide the infusion of multicultural issues throughout the preservice curriculum." The authors provide a base framework of such a vision, intended to serve as a starting point for conversations among teacher educators.
