Clinical Practice Resources

Clinical Practice Introduction

Welcome to the Clinical Practice resource guide. Whether you are in residency or non-residency, or in your first or second year, this guide contains resources to help you. There are resources to help with your classroom, your students, your instruction, and your personal development.

Effective Teaching Practices for Equity and Inclusion

During your Clinical Practice coursework, you will contextualize and deepen prioritized competencies from Major and Foundations coursework by expanding your toolbox, applying new strategies, and reflecting on the impact. The goal of clinical practice is to support you in becoming a critically reflective, culturally responsive practitioner, who is confident in their own self-efficacy, and committed to driving their own growth and development.

As you expand your toolbox, your learning will center five core teaching practices that advance equity and inclusion in your classroom. Those practices are: Culturally Responsive Teaching, Universal Design for Learning, Trauma Informed Teaching, Restorative Practices, and Social-Emotional Learning.
