Framing Discourse

Discourse is a discussion or debate between students and their teachers that is centered on a topic. It is an oral exchange of ideas, opinions, and analysis that fosters critical thinking and  deepens content understanding. Importantly, it is a means by which students’ thinking is made visible to each other and their teachers. It can also be a variety of written and spoken forms of communication for communicating and processing content concepts and understanding.
