Elementary Resources

UNESCO defines Open Educational Resources (OER) as: learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others. There are a number of important goals behind the OER movement, including:

• Reducing barriers to education, including access, cost, language and format.
• Enabling the free access to and reuse of expressions of human knowledge, in all of its forms.
• Ensuring educators have the legal rights to retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute educational resources as they determine – without having to ask permission.

This guide is designed to collect many of the high quality open resources that exist for P-12 educators. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, but it will be updated as new resources and collections are identified. We encourage you to use the form below to contribute any resources or offer feedback on this guide or the resources listed. All of the resources listed are free to access, but some sites require a free user account. The link descriptions indicate when a free account is required.
